Anyway, this officially took forever to colour! Spent most of my birthday yesterday doing such. (and yep! I'm 19 starting today. They do say the brain is the first thing to go.)
Now, on to Anna's backstory! WALL OF TEXT GOGOGO!
backstory: Anna, of mixed ancestry, was born to a noble family in the Ottoman Empire. Posing as a male, at her mother's wishes, she underwent military training at a young age, and was quickly adopted by the Janissary for her skills in compounding and marksmanship. She quickly ascended through her ranks, and was soon appointed a guardsman to the Sultan's family. Soon after, a plot within the Janissary Corps was hatched to kidnap the Sultan's son. Anna volunteered, and did so. However, the Janissary then abandoned the plot, feeling the time for revolt was too early, and claimed Anna had acted on her own. Anna was then labeled a traitor and fugitive. The prince, being sympathetic to her, used his resources to stow her away on a merchant ship bound for India. Word had gotten out that she was on the vessel however, and quickly two Ottoman Frigates were sent in pursuit. The news of the fugitive stowaway prevented docking in India, and the two frigates were hot in pursuit. Captain Francoise, head of the merchant ship, decided to jettison much of the iron scrap she was going to sell in order to lighten the load. The first item to be heaved overboard, an iron column weighing 20 tons, was quickly recognized by Anna as a Great Turkish Bombard. Under her instruction, the cannon was loaded and fired at one of the pursuing frigates, destroying it instantly. Surprised by this power, the other frigate retreated. The blast from the cannon had irrecoverably damaged the merchant ship's hull however, and left them at the mercy of the ocean currents. A few days pass, before the ship is finally grounded in southern Japan. They are then greeted by a certain gang of yakuza...
Fighting Style: Anna's combat style is the World at War equivalent of a Heavy Bomber; she's heavy, slow, and has to roll a six to do anything.
Turkish Bombard: The small cannon she carries around, (that bat thing in her right hand), is terribly inaccurate, takes forever to load, has tremendous recoil, and weights a ton. However, when it hits, it hits hard. It can also double as a mêlée weapon in close combat. The caliber of the ammunition is 100 mm, and has a range of 400 yards. The chances of it hitting are 1/6. The chances the intended target will soil themselves are 6/6.
Griffin Arrows: The rockets in her left hand are a variation of the Fire Arrow, with an effective range of 600 yards coupled together with 1d4 yards of splash damage. They are adorned with dead buzzard heads because otherwise, they wouldn't be called Griffin Arrows, now would they?
Gunpowder: Anna is constantly covered in gunpowder. She reeks of it. She needs to take a bath. But she's an ottoman, so don't count on it. Because of this, she typically explodes in a fantastic fashion whenever working with fire. This is certainly a 'weakness' many people will fall for...

man, i cant wait to see more of this character from you. that means DRAW MORE YOU FLUFFY FIEND. because when you do you create cotton clad balls of awesomeness that i could never compare to
Heh, all my knowledge of Japanese history is pieced together from one and a half Ryu Kenshin episodes and the opposing arguments in a Knight vs. Samurai forum thread. When coupled with the fact I thought 'yakuza' was a brand of car before now, I'd say it'd be safer to avoid too much backstory there. xD
Anywho! Looking forward to seein' ya in the Gochiberry-Gummy if you decide such! (Team Hachiman... they aren't worthy!)
G'AAAWWWW I've always loved her. Ever since I saw her, and it made me happy to see SDL-Annastasia.
Also, happy birthday! 8D

Sketch 'til your hand burns.
I was hoping to see Anna in SDL, and you have an interesting and refreshingly yakuza-free backstory(until the end but that's unavoidable).
And yes, she is verily much gun-ho-ish! xDDD
